Clicks in North Charleston are not cheap, and the electrician search shows it: an electrician click averages $75.21. Lithium Marketing runs Google Ads for service businesses here with tracking in place before the budget moves, so every call can be traced to the keyword, the ad and the landing page behind it. A plumbing, roofing or landscaping company gets its own account plan, built around its own jobs.
The spread between trades decides where the money goes first. A plumber click in North Charleston averages $58.24, a pest control click $23.87 and a landscaping click $10.63, so the same monthly budget buys a different number of clicks in each trade. We start with the trade that has the shortest path from click to booked job and add the others as the tracking proves them.
Click costs in North Charleston
Click prices in the table below run from $10.63 for landscaping to $75.21 for an electrician. A roofer advertising on the “roofing company north charleston” search gets about 30 searches a month to work with, so the landing page has to earn the click; a pest company has about 140 searches a month on “pest control north charleston” and a $23.87 click to turn into a call.
The “plumber north charleston” search we checked carried no paid ads, and the Map Pack held the top of the page. A campaign here works with a complete Google Business Profile, because the map listing and the ads answer different questions.

The North Charleston market
North Charleston's population is 129,245, and Charleston County's is 436,200. The city line is not the edge of the market, so the campaigns target cities and radii, not one postal code.
Housing in North Charleston is a mix: 25.1% of homes went up in 2010 or later, and 49.8% of occupied homes are owner-occupied. For an owner-occupied home, the ad and the landing page can speak to the owner; for a rental, the form should ask who signs off before the estimate. Name the kind of property the job is on so the lead arrives with the answer.

Trades in Charleston County
Charleston County lists 34 roofing contractors and 151 plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors. If a repair call goes to the company that can reach the address, that campaign needs a smaller radius than a remodeler's, and the landing page should say which parts of the city the crew covers.
The bigger trade groups use ads differently. Landscaping services number 184 in Charleston County, and a landscaper's jobs can be larger and further apart, so the ad can cover a wider area and the landing page can ask for the project details up front.

The first month
The tracking goes in first, so the first month's budget follows what the calls say.
Every campaign, keyword and search term gets checked against the calls it produced, and anything that spent money without a call goes on a list to cut.
Call tracking and conversion tags run from the first day, so each call and form entry carries the campaign, keyword and ad that produced it.
Each job you want more of gets its own campaign and landing page, so the budget can move toward the work your crews can take this month.
Bids and search terms get adjusted daily for the first 30 days, then weekly, with the changes written into the monthly report.
What every Google Ads account includes
The same eight parts go into every Google Ads account, wherever the business is.

Ads can run city by city, so a campaign can cover the South Carolina pages below and the Georgia ones once the crews cross the state line. The South Carolina page collects the state in one list.

Work backward from the job. A booked job has a value, and a lead is worth a share of it; the click price and the landing page decide how many leads a month of budget can produce. Start with a figure you can lose without pain, then raise it when the report shows a cost per lead the jobs cover.
Calls can start in the first week, because the ads go live with tracking already attached. The first month is mostly subtraction: we watch which search terms bring calls, cut the ones that only spend, and move that money to the terms that book work.
The first term is six months, long enough for the account to learn. After that it renews monthly and either side can stop it with 30 days' notice. Management starts at $500 a month, plus ad spend, and the fee follows the size of the ad budget, the channels in play and any landing page work.
A second channel can help, but not by default. Microsoft Ads and Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram are options when your buyers already spend time there, or when the Google click price leaves too little room. We test it only after the first channel has tracked calls behind it.
The lead carries its source. Each call and form arrives with the keyword and ad that produced it, and once the team marks the ones that turned into work, the monthly report shows which keywords paid for themselves and which only produced noise.
