New York SEO, plainly
For a New York City service business, local SEO from Lithium Marketing starts with the listing customers see before they reach any website. When we checked “plumber new york”, the Map Pack was the first thing on the page, above the organic results, and Google builds that pack from Business Profiles. So we fix your profile first, then write the site pages that give Google more reasons to show it.
Distance matters in that pack. Google weighs how near a business is to the person searching, and New York City spreads across about 300 square miles of land, with Queens the largest borough by area. One address won’t carry you across all of it. A page on your site for each borough you cover, listing the jobs you do there, is how you compete in the organic results where the pack doesn’t reach.
What New York searches show
Review counts in that Map Pack ran 219, 92 and 644. A New York company with a handful of reviews is up against those totals, so part of the SEO work is a simple way to ask each finished customer for a review, plus replies to the reviews that come in.
Yelp ranked in the top 10 below the pack, and Google showed a People Also Ask box of customer questions. Both shape the plan: your Yelp listing needs the same name, phone number and services as your site, and each service page should answer the common questions in its first lines. Trade searches naming New York are big enough to earn those pages, with about 1,900 a month for “electrician new york”.
| Search | Searches a month | Cost per click |
|---|---|---|
| seo agency new york | 1,900 | $16.86 |
| seo company new york | 1,000 | $6.70 |
| seo services new york | 390 | $8.93 |
| seo new york | 390 | $31.67 |

Writing for the boroughs
Brooklyn is the city’s most populous borough and is known for its distinct neighborhoods. A Brooklyn page that names the neighborhoods you work in and shows jobs finished there tells a customer you know the borough, and it gives Google more to match against what they searched.
New York City has 28,569 people per square mile of land, so the neighborhoods closest to your shop already hold a lot of potential customers. For a New York company, that usually makes depth worth more than reach: strong pages for the boroughs you work in most do more than thin pages for all five.

Trades in Kings County
Brooklyn, which is Kings County, has 784 plumbing and HVAC contractors and 593 electricians. In trades that size, specific pages set you apart from the rest. A plumber with its own pages for drain cleaning, water heaters and repiping gives Google a match for each of those searches, where a single “plumbing” page competes for all of them at once.
Painting contractors number 184 in Kings County. A painter’s finished work is the selling point, so the Google profile and the site should both carry photos of rooms and exteriors you painted, each labeled with the borough where you did the job.

The SEO work
The profile and the site get fixed before new pages go up, and links come last.
We fix the primary category, add every service, set the service area to the boroughs you cover and load photos of real jobs.
Anything slowing the site down or hiding pages from Google gets fixed early, before new pages are written.
A page for each job you want more of and each borough you work in, with the common customer questions answered in the opening lines.
Once Yelp and the other directories show the same business details as your site, we earn links to the borough and service pages that bring in the most calls.
What every SEO retainer includes
The same eight parts go into every SEO retainer, wherever the business is.

Two things set it: how far your site and profile sit from the businesses ranking today, and the revenue one new lead brings you. A painter with a working site and steady reviews needs less each month. A remodeler chasing large projects with a bare profile has more to build, from extra pages to a fuller profile and more links, so its retainer sits higher.
You can compete there in the organic results. The Map Pack is harder, because Google weighs distance from the searcher. Borough pages that describe the work you do there, backed by finished jobs and reviews from those customers, are how service-area businesses compete beyond their own neighborhood. No one can promise a position, and your report shows where each page ranks.
Month one goes to the Google profile and technical fixes, and those fixes usually show movement within 30 days. Borough and service pages follow. Local and long-tail rankings typically climb over 60 to 90 days, and from the fourth month on, the revenue from search tends to build. Calls and leads from search appear in every monthly report.
No. Google sets the Map Pack order and weighs things no agency controls, such as how far the searcher is from you. We guarantee the work, not a ranking: profile fixes, borough and service pages, listing cleanup and links, each itemized in your monthly report next to your rankings and the calls that came in.
Access to your Google Business Profile and website, the jobs you want more of and the boroughs you cover. Photos of finished work help both the profile and the pages. We do the writing and the technical work, and you read each page before it goes live.

We need three things: your website, the name on your Google Business Profile and the boroughs you want more calls from. A co-founder looks them over before a short video call, then walks you through the gaps and the first fixes.
