Downey PPC, in plain terms
“Garage door repair downey” runs $27.29 a click on about 90 searches a month, and at that price an untracked account is guessing. Lithium Marketing runs Google Ads for Downey service businesses so each call can be traced to the keyword behind it, and the monthly report speaks in calls, leads and cost per lead.
Cheaper clicks are not always better ones. “Electrician downey” costs $13.22 a click, and “water damage restoration downey” draws about 10 searches a month, so the plan sets a separate budget and landing page for each job type, not one pot spread across a whole trade.
Where the budget goes
Landscaping is the cheaper test. Los Angeles County has 1,300 landscaping services, and landscape work is sold on a walkthrough, not an emergency, so a smaller monthly budget with a page for each kind of project carries further there.
Ad slots change by hour, searcher and budget. The plumber results page carried no paid ads the day we looked, and the Map Pack filled the top of it. A campaign that ignores the profile underneath competes with the map for the same call, so run both: the ads cover the searches the profile cannot reach.

How the county is laid out
Los Angeles County holds 9,694,934 people, and a campaign set to the whole county would spend in places your crews will not drive to. Downey packs 8,741 people into each square mile, so a tight set of city and neighborhood targets covers a lot of households without paying for the far side of the county.
The cities around Downey are separate targets. South Gate and Bell Gardens sit to the west and northwest, and each can carry its own budget, its own landing page and its own cost per lead, so a campaign that starts in Downey grows outward one city at a time.

Which trades to bid on
Los Angeles County has 487 roofing contractors, fewer than its remodelers or plumbers. For a roofer, repair clicks need a landing page built for that work and a negative keyword list that keeps replacement shoppers out of a repair budget.
Excavation and site preparation contractors number 365 in the county. For planned work, lead the ad with finished jobs and ask for a walkthrough, not a same-day booking.

The first month
Nothing gets spent until a call can be traced, and your calendar decides when the budget leans in.
What has run, what it returned and which months your calendar fills, all before a budget moves.
A tracking number per channel and per job type, so a call in the report traces back to the ad that paid for it.
Every campaign points at a page for that job, so the ad and the page promise the same thing.
Bids and search terms get checked daily through the first 30 days, then once a week, against the calendar we set.
What every Google Ads account includes
The same eight parts go into every Google Ads account, wherever the business is.
A garden-center account
Matt Johnson, from his time running On-Target Landscape, is quoted beside the Drake’s 7 Dees card. Drake’s is a garden center, and Lithium handled its Google Ads along with the website and the SEO that support it.

FAQ
Still curious?
Call (503) 766-5964 or email [email protected].
Start from what a booked job is worth to you and work backward. A trade whose clicks cost more needs either a higher-value job or a sharper landing page, and the budget follows that arithmetic. Lithium’s fee runs from $500 a month in management, plus ad spend, and scales with the ad spend, the channels we run and any landing page work. We agree the opening number on the strategy call and revise it once tracking shows the cost per lead.
A tracked campaign usually produces its first calls in the first week, though a quiet trade can take longer. Month one is a filter: keywords that spend without producing a usable call come out, and that money goes behind the few that do. The report shows cost per lead as the account settles.
Sometimes. Microsoft Ads, Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram, and LinkedIn for commercial work are all managed here. A second network gets tested when your buyers already spend time on it, or when the Google auction in your trade gets too expensive to carry alone.
The report opens with the cost per lead for each campaign and the calls behind that number, each one matched to the keyword that bought it. Mark the leads that became jobs and the same report follows a campaign all the way to a booked job, which is what sets the next budget.
You approve the budget and the job types; Lithium runs the account inside them. Google runs the auction and sets the prices, and our job is spending your budget on the searches that produce jobs. Anything that moves real money gets agreed with you first.
