San Diego websites, explained

What a San Diego contractor’s website has to prove

Every website Lithium Marketing builds for a San Diego service business has one job: getting the person reading it to call or ask for an estimate. That person is often pricing work on an expensive house: the median San Diego home is valued at $906,700. So we place finished projects, reviews and a short estimate form together near the top of each service page, where an owner deciding who to trust with that house can check your work without hunting for it.

The median San Diego home was built in 1979, and older, dense urban communities including Hillcrest and North Park surround Balboa Park. Project pages titled by community and job, such as a North Park kitchen remodel or a Hillcrest repipe, show a buyer on those streets that you have worked on houses like theirs.

Housing in San Diego

Older houses, renters and the photos your site needs

Homes built before 1980 make up 52.4% of San Diego’s housing, while 9.0% date from 2010 or later. A gallery full of new construction misses the majority of the city’s homes, so add and caption older-home jobs, each with a line on what you found when you opened the wall and how you fixed it.

Owner-occupied homes make up 47.3% of San Diego’s occupied housing, so a landlord or property manager may be the one hiring. Give rental work its own page: how you schedule around tenants, who receives the invoice and photos from multi-unit jobs.

Builders, remodelers and painters

San Diego County’s project trades and what their sites need

Residential remodelers top San Diego County’s chart with 1,691 businesses, and the county has 657 new home builders. With that many remodelers in one county, a site has to show the work: a gallery for each project type, a short story for each job and an estimate form that collects the room, the rough budget and the hoped-for start date, so your first call with the customer starts with facts.

San Diego County has 456 painting contractors, and a painter’s site lives or dies on before-and-after pairs: the same wall or exterior shot from the same angle, captioned with the prep work, so a customer can judge both the finish and the care behind it.

From kickoff to launch

How Lithium builds a San Diego contractor’s website

Six to nine weeks from kickoff to launch is typical, and you sign off on each stage before the next begins.

1

Start from your photo library

We sort the job photos you already have by service and community, and our writers draft each page from what you tell us on the kickoff call.

2

Lay out the phone screen first

You see the phone version of each page before the desktop one, with the call button, the estimate form and your strongest project in view, and nothing gets built until you approve it.

3

Build on WordPress and test every lead

The site goes up on WordPress, and before launch we place test calls and submissions on every page and confirm that GA4 and call tracking log each one.

4

Redirect, launch and train your team

Launch includes redirects from every old URL that matters, and afterward your team gets a private Loom video on adding finished jobs to the gallery.

What every Lithium website includes

A Portland glass company

A Portland glass company’s new website, with SEO and Google Ads behind it

The case on the card comes from Portland, Oregon: Lithium built a new website for Town & Country Glass, a commercial glass company, and ran its SEO and Google Ads alongside it, so the results belong to all three. In the quote beside it, Kevin Atiyeh speaks for Atiyeh Bros, the carpet and rug company.

FAQ

Questions to settle before a new San Diego website

Still curious?

Call (503) 766-5964 or email [email protected].

What does a new website cost for a San Diego contractor?

Typically $5,000, which covers the build for most service business sites. A company that needs far more pages than usual, such as a remodeler who wants a page for every kind of project, gets a fixed proposal before the build begins, so the price is agreed in advance.

Who owns the finished site?

You do. The domain and the WordPress install are registered to your company, and the copy and photos are yours as well. Nothing about the site depends on staying a Lithium client, so you can move it or hand it to another developer whenever you choose.

Will the site work for customers who only use their phone?

Yes. The call button stays in reach on every screen, pages are built to Core Web Vitals targets such as a largest contentful paint under 2.5 seconds, and the estimate form asks only for what you need to call the customer back.

Does the site come with hosting and updates?

Only if you want them. Hosting and maintenance is an optional plan at $99 a month, covering secure private hosting on a high-speed server, daily backups, software and security updates and basic website changes. Most clients choose it, and because the site is yours, you can also host it elsewhere.

Do I need professional photos before we start?

No. Sharp, well-lit phone photos of real jobs work well, and they show customers your own crews and finished work. We sort what you send, point out which jobs deserve a better shot and write the copy around them, so your part is mostly sending files and answering questions at kickoff.
