What the site has to do

What a Roanoke website has to prove

Roanoke’s median home was built in 1958, so a local contractor’s pages should speak to repair, replacement and renovation on a house with history. Lithium Marketing designs and builds WordPress websites for Roanoke service businesses, and the site leads with that kind of work: the finished job, the problem it solved and the phone number a visitor can tap.

Only 4.2% of Roanoke’s homes arrived in 2010 or later. A gallery full of new construction says little to a customer with an older kitchen, so the photos that belong first are the ones that look like the caller’s house.

Who owns the house

Who owns the home, and who approves the work

52.4% of Roanoke’s occupied homes are owner-occupied, and the median home value is $190,500. At that value, project photos and a clear scope do more than a stock image of a toolbox. The homes that are rented often bring a property manager or a landlord to the conversation, and a page that says who signs the estimate saves a phone call.

Roanoke is divided into 49 separate neighborhoods, and the city’s plan aims to give each one a village center. A site with a page for Raleigh Court and a page for Grandin Village, an active commercial hub anchored by the Grandin Theatre, reads like a local company. A single service-area sentence reads like a template.

Project work and repair work

Project trades and repair trades need different sites

Roanoke city lists 32 residential remodelers and 13 new home builders, and both sell work a customer plans for, not a same-day repair. Their sites need a gallery for each kind of job, a form that asks what the project involves and how soon it starts, and enough finished photographs to prove the standard.

Plumbing works the other way. The number, the towns covered and the hours belong at the top, because the visitor with a leak needs the phone before a gallery. Roanoke city has 12 painting contractors as well, and a painter’s site has to do two jobs: make the estimate easy to request and show rooms that were finished well.

The build, step by step

The four stages of a Roanoke build

Your photos start it, you approve each stage, and a phone test comes before launch.

1

Start with the finished work

Send the jobs you want more of: photos, the services they show and the towns you cover. One call fills in the rest, and the copy is written from that.

2

Draw the phone screen before the desktop

The phone comes first. The call button, quote form and job photos get placed where a thumb reaches them, and the desktop layout follows.

3

Build on WordPress, then test it

WordPress carries the build. Before launch, every form, phone link and tracking tag is tested, with GA4 and call tracking connected.

4

Point the old addresses at the new pages

The old addresses redirect to their new pages. After launch, a private Loom recording shows your team how to make edits.

Proof from a glass company

A glass company's website, SEO and Google Ads

Lithium rebuilt the website for Town & Country Glass and runs its SEO and Google Ads; the card’s figures belong to that whole body of work. Daniel Busby, president of Willard Power Vac, gives the quote; the company cleans air ducts, dryer vents and chimneys.

Questions before a Roanoke website rebuild

What pushes a Roanoke website past the typical price?

Page count is the main driver. A remodeler with a deep project archive, or a company that wants a page for each neighborhood and nearby city, is buying more writing and more layout. A larger build gets its own proposal after a discovery call, so the number is known before work starts.

Who holds the domain and the hosting account?

You own both. The domain, the hosting account, the WordPress install and the content all sit in your name, so if you ever leave Lithium, everything goes with you. There is no version of the build where the agency keeps the keys.

What happens to the old pages when the new site launches?

Each old address is mapped to a new page before launch, which keeps the traffic and links those pages earned. Search Console gets checked around launch, and no ranking is promised; the redirects keep what Google already knows connected to the new site.

Can we edit the site after it goes live?

The site is built on WordPress, so text, photos and new finished jobs can be changed by your own team. A private Loom walkthrough shows how, and the optional $99 a month plan exists for businesses that would rather hand hosting, daily backups, software and security updates, and basic website changes to Lithium.

What do we send to start a rebuild?

Start with a handful of finished-job photos, the services you sell and the towns you cover, then book a kickoff call. The copy is written for you, and every design and page gets your approval before launch.
