The click price varies
An average click on “roofing company fargo” costs $16.64, and a click on “garage door repair fargo” costs $12.88. A single budget across both hides that difference, so the owner cannot tell which trade is buying calls at a fair price. Lithium Marketing runs Google Ads for Fargo service businesses with call tracking on every click.
Fargo’s winters are long and bitterly cold, and its snowfall averages 51.4 inches a season. If your own records show busier weeks in winter, the budget can follow them; if not, the spend stays where the calls are. Your own call history sets the budget calendar, not the season alone.
Click costs and volumes
In Fargo, plumbing clicks average $9.26, pest control $6.15, landscaping $3.84 and electrical $3.63. Those prices say nothing about whether a click became a job, which is why the account needs call tracking before it needs a bigger budget.
Volume is uneven too: 880 monthly searches for “plumber fargo”, 590 for “landscaping fargo” and 390 for “roofing company fargo”. A plumbing campaign can cast a wider net because the pool is deep; a garage door campaign at 320 searches for “garage door repair fargo” needs tighter negatives and a landing page that matches the repair.

The Fargo market
Fargo covers 51.888 square miles, so one city campaign can cover the whole city. The bigger question is the Red River, with Fargo’s twin city of Moorhead, Minnesota on the other bank. The location settings should match the side you serve: include Minnesota if you take those jobs, exclude it if you do not, and stop paying for clicks you cannot answer.
Cass County’s 52% owner-occupied share shapes the landing page. A tenant, an owner and a property manager have different authority to approve work, so the form or the call should ask who can say yes before a crew is scheduled.

Trades in Cass County
Cass County has 90 plumbing and HVAC contractors, the biggest trade group in the county. That count says how many businesses sell the same work; it says nothing about what a bid should be. Your own cost per booked job is the number that matters, and it only exists once calls are tracked.
The landing page has to match the trade. A roofing click should land on roof repair and replacement with a phone number at the top. A landscaping click should land on services and a quote form. One generic services page sends both back to Google.

The first month
Tracking goes in before the budget moves, and the campaign structure follows the trades you want.
We read the current campaigns, the search terms and the landing pages, and list what is wasting money.
We connect GA4, call tracking and form conversions, so each call and form can be traced to the keyword and ad that produced it.
Roofing, plumbing, garage doors or whatever you sell gets its own campaign, landing page and budget.
The first 30 days get daily bid and search-term work; after that, a weekly review ties spend to cost per booked job.

“Lithium Marketing has been amazing for our business. They have greatly increased our web traffic and helped us land hundreds of jobs. Before we started using Lithium we were sitting on page 8 in google. We are now sitting in the top spots in all the areas we do work.”

Google Ads can run city by city, so a campaign can cover West Fargo or Grand Forks without touching the rest of the state. Add a separate budget and landing page for any other city you serve; the state page lists the markets Lithium covers.

FAQ
Still curious?
Call (503) 766-5964 or email [email protected].
The fee is from $500 a month in management, plus ad spend. The ad budget depends on your trade’s click cost and what a booked job is worth: a roofer and an electrician buy very different clicks. Start with enough to judge a month of calls, not the minimum that keeps an ad running.
Calls usually arrive in the opening days, with the real pattern several weeks out. The account is still learning at that point, and the signal comes from search-term data: which phrases produced booked work and which burned budget. We trim the second group, fund the first, and cost per lead becomes a number you can check.
Six months is the standard first term, long enough to gather a clean stretch of call data. After that it runs month to month, and 30 days’ notice ends it. The proposal carries the management fee for your ad spend and channels.
Yes, when a second channel earns it. Most of the budget belongs on Google, because that is where the search starts. Microsoft Ads is worth a test when Bing clicks cost less for the same job, and Meta can put the offer in front of Facebook and Instagram users. Add either one when your buyers already use it, and keep it only while it produces calls.
The report answers a narrower question than a click total: which campaign, keyword and ad produced each call, and the cost per lead. A booked job is the only result that matters, so when you tell us which leads turned into work, the next budget change follows that list.
