Our History
Willard Power Vac, Inc. started in 1975 with one truck and two employees. Working hard to build a name for the company, we began cleaning residential and light commercial heating systems. By 1985 we were operating three trucks with three full time employees and three part time employees. In 1989 we split into our residential division and commercial division. In 1990 we added our third power vac truck and a support vehicle for the commercial division.
Today Willard Power Vac is the largest power vac company by volume of work in the Portland metro area. We can handle almost any HVAC cleaning need. We have four power vac trucks, a portable vac unit, and three support vehicles for all your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning cleaning needs.
Our Equipment
Our truck-mounted vacuum systems are some of the most advanced pieces of machinery in the field.
There is a mentality out there these days that all you need to clean duct work is a large shop vac with a small hose that is pushed down into your vents as far as it will go and your duct work is clean. I can speak from experience, having followed behind some of the companies that are using this method of cleaning, I have seen what is missed by using this method of cleaning, and it does not work.
What is a truck mounted Power Vac Truck?
A truck mounted power vac unit is just what it says, a vacuum system mounted on a chassis. This type of vacuum has enough suction to suck up a pile of bricks! The vacuum operates at approximately 16,000 CFM, and runs off the truck engine using a power take off or pto. Also each of our trucks are equipped with a compressor capable of producing approximately 150-200lbs of compressed air for operating a variety of internal duct cleaning devices, and air to aid in moving dust and dirt from inside your duct work in to our truck mounted vacuum system.
It is physically impossible to remove the kind of dust and dirt that collects inside duct work without the use of a truck mounted vacuum system. You must have the powerful suction to move the dirt beyond the main trunk lines. Truck mounted vacuums were designed back in the forties and fifties to remove the dust and dirt from within the duct work without the need for making many access holes in duct work.
If you want the job done right the first time, then a truck mounted vacuum is what you want. In most cases Willard Power Vac uses only truck mounted vacuum systems to get the job done. We strive to maintain our equipment, keeping it clean and presentable when we arrive at the work site.
